Mother Kevin Providence Social Entrepreneurs Ministries Jinja Region – Eastern Uganda.
I am Sister Rose Thumitho, a member of the Little Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, Uganda, and a co-founder of the Mother Kevin Providence Social Entrepreneurs Ministries, a registered community-based organization in the region surrounding Jinja City, Uganda, where I live and work. I worked in hospital administration for 15 years before cofoundinghis ministry, and my objective is to be a leader for community mobilization, especially as a social entrepreneur in the agribusiness sector, and advocate for the environment while promoting good health for humanity through organic farming and ecosystem management.
Today, we help feed local people in need, including the elderly, the young, the disabled, and young women, as we train and provide growing chicken stock so they can become more independent and provide a stable income for themselves and their families.
Purpose:
We are at the eaerly stage of growth which needs finacial support in form of Donations. We seek for partnership to help us scale up our enterprise and also be able to give seed money to the target groups. We request for your fincncial assistance in raising funds to scale up the growth of our social enterprise. The United States African Development Foundation (USADF) awarded us with USD 25,000, which we purchased and established the hatchery and irrigation equipment. We raisad funds and completed the buildings to house the Hatchery incubator machine. We had hoped to receive another grant for the electrical wiring, solar panels, and battery backup system. However, the demise of USADF has left us with no current funding source. it is the reson we seek for your help to continue to upgrade our operations and create social and economic impact to benefit our local Sisters community and families to be stable especially in their marriages and improve there livelihood by becoming innovative and economically independent while taking care of Mother Earth through conservation farming.
Additional information:

The Little Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi of the Third Order Regular was founded in 1923 and is an indigenous Institute of Diocesan Right with almost 840 sisters. It was founded in 1923 by a Franciscan missionary. Our operations are in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. We work in Education, Health, Pastoral, and Social Ministries to transform our society positively.
Our operations in the Jinja Region serve and support 5,000 individuals with our poultry operations. We serve vulnerable families with land access but are generally not trained in efficient farming techniques. They also do not have a sound understanding of the importance of good nutrition. Therefore, we train farmers (primarily women) to raise organic chickens for meat and eggs to become self-sufficient. We also hire local women and youths to help run our hatchery operations and train them to become more professional and develop into managers. We plan to build our hatchery into an income source to fund expanded poultry operations, provide good-paying jobs, provide chick stock to local farmers, and raise income to support our regional sisters.

Mission:
To reach out with compassion to the vulnerable, poor, and needy whom we are called to love and serve.
Goal:
Evangelize and empower the unemployed Youth, single and teenage mothers, people with special needs, the aged, and counsel couples to support their families and maintain healthy marriages..
Vission:
To become a vibrant, leading social enterprise of the Little Sisters of St. Francis (LSOSF) in Uganda and beyond. We aim to empower needy families by supplying quality chicken meat, eggs, and chicks at affordable prices within five years.
Output:
We mobilize, sensitize, impart leadership skills, team spirit, and entrepreneurial skills, teach them how to mobilize resources, and counsel them. We also look for seed money to help them start their own businesses, promoting holistic and sustainable economic growth and improving their livelihoods.
